HiMedica is based in Tarvin, about 5 miles from Chester. The HiMedica site is 10,000 sq ft, which includes a Class 7 cleanroom, manufacturing areas, a polymer synthesis laboratory, a materials testing laboratory, cell culture and microbiology laboratories and offices.
HiMedica personnel have many years of experience in the Medical Device industry, in design, testing manufacture and sale of medical devices, from Class 1 to Class 3 devices, blister and woundcare products to vascular grafts.
DR CHRISTOPHER IVES - Managing Director
Chris is a bioengineer who after obtaining a PhD at the University of Liverpool and ICI Joint Biomaterials Development Laboratory (now the Department of Clinical Engineering) has worked in both research at Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University in the USA as well as the medical device industry in the USA and UK. He is the author of various publications.
DR IAN MIDDLETON - Research and Development Director
Ian is a polymer chemist who obtained his degrees from University College London and Aston University before undertaking postdoctoral research at Liverpool University, during which time he authored numerous publications. He has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 15 years on the development of a number of products, with his particular areas of expertise being polyurethanes and hydrogels.
MARTIN HUGHES - Production Manager
Martin has 20 years' experience in the manufacture of devices and is familiar with a range of large and small scale polymer syntheses, fabrication and converting technology.
